Own Power can supply the private smart sub meters to each tenant in multi-tenanted/user commercial or residential buildings. This establishes an electricity embedded network ( EEN ) which then enables the owner of this network to organise with a retailer a cheaper bulk buy rate /kwh which is cheaper than that for an single user. An income stream then is available to the owner due to the margin between the group buy rate and the rate charged to the tenant discounted to their grid rate.
This EEN can provide significant cost savings and income for Shopping centres, larger residential projects, office buildings,retailer chains and retirement villages.
Smart meters enable user and operator to monitor usage and the wireless billing for owner income.
Prepaid meters for Rental Accommodation
Own Power's product services includes supply of prepaid meters including monitoring the prepayment or post payments by user tenants. They can be installed anywhere especially in student accommodation, retail stores, office suites, throughout rental housing and holiday apartment rentals.
The installation of prepaid meters ensures the landlord that energy use by tenants can be monitored and prepaid by them so ensuring no bad debts or excessive energy use as well as enabling both parties to monitor and modify their usage. Tenants don’t have to organise their own supply or forward bonds to a supplier in order to have discounted energy possibly at a fixed usage volume especially if included in the tenants fixed rental per week to avoid overuse.
Prepaid meters come with a visual screen display which shows the tenant/user how much power is being used and what is left of the prepaid energy just like a prepaid mobile phone.
